Designed 2 Delight challenge

Can I just say how thankful I am able to play challenges again! I missed playing along with Faith's blog, she has some wonderful stamps. This month the freebie was Hope Butterfly. It's part of a beautiful set you can check out on her site
Here is my card:
Now don't look to close, you'll see all the fighting this card and I had. Smeared glitter all over my hands, dropped ink pad, broken pencil crayons, paper cutter that would only cut about 3/4 of the paper (ya know-would cut the beginning and end but not the middle-grrrr)
This morning was definitely not a great one for crafting but I think overall it turned out ok. The sentiment is a stamp I picked up at the 'M' store on sale. It's it beautiful?
Thanks for looking, now go play, you have til Thursday :)

You make my heart smile!

This week at the Delightful Inspiration blog we were given the Ladybug Balancing Act digi stamp. This stamp is so cute and very timely as we are starting to get some buds showing on our plants/trees. Yeah! Spring is coming :) Anywho, I decided to use my favourite sentiment on this card. I often tell my children, when they say they love me, they "make my heart smile" . Nothing beats hearing that! Here is my card:
I'd like to enter this into the Stamping Vacation " for your amusement" challenge. We are to use spots-ribbon, and ladybugs.
Have a wonderful day!

Garden Party Card

This delightful image was a freebie from Delightful Inspiration. Want to get a freebie next week? Head on over and learn how you can get freebies every week just by playing along :)
Here is my card that I am giving to a wonderful person I know who is recovering from a double mastectomy. Today was her first day out and she really was enjoying the spring weather. So I thought I would send along a cute note with her son tomorrow letting her know how lovely it was to see her! The inside reads :Spring is a time of new beginnings.

So the card didn't turn out as I wanted. I was having a rough day today (and of course I left things til the last minute-oops) So here are my learning tips:  (enjoy the chuckle at my expense)
1) When using glitter, wait until it dries before you decide to colour the rest of your image (or keep baby wipes close by for your hands)
2) When dry embossing on the BigShot, make sure you turn your paper the right way. Otherwise instead of 'popped up' dots you get indents.
3) When using the coluzzle, dont' pick it up and move it half way through cutting. Believe it or not its hard to match up and may cause your oval to be a little off (giggles)
Have a great night!

Delightful inspiration challenge

Well spring is almost here and Faith has given us a freebie to use this week called Lucky Bird. Want some free stamps? Come play along and you'll get one sent to you next week. Check out the deets here:
http://designed2delight.blogspot.com/
Here is my card for the challenge:

For the background I used some paper I had hanging around. I added pearls and glitter to the flower and sentiment (unfortunately it smeared) Tip: wait til your ink dries before you put your glitter on! The bird is popped up and so is the sentiment. I edged the side with a punch from SU and chalked around the card with blue. Now I confess, this uber cute bird had a clover in his mouth but I found it was to much with the flower background. Have a great day!!

It's challenge time!

http://designed2delight.blogspot.com/
Head on over to the Delightful Inspiration blog where I was inspired this week. It's a great daffodil image and it just makes me want spring that much more!! If you play this week, you get next weeks image free, how great is that? Please see second card in this post
Here is my card for the "other challenge' on CDAC. We had to use a designed to Delight image and mix two different types of patterned paper.

I used the same layout in both but mixed it up a little. The sentiment on the bottom card is from SU as are the papers. The sentiment on the first card was a freebie at TLC.
Have a great day!

The image has stitching in it already so I added stitching around the outside of the card  and along the cloudy paper. This image would be perfect for paper piecing!
