It's challenge time!

Its time for the Hambo Hoedown. Those who played last week got this awesome Hero Bird image free to play with this week. You can still play along even if you didn't enter last week go here for more details :
http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/

On my card I used Basic Grey papers, glittered the medal and beak, added rhinestones, and stitched the edging with a cooper glitter pen. I chose to break up the sentiment and popped the main image :)

Designed to delight challenge

Here is my entry for the Designed to Delight challenge. If you play along you get sent a freebie image the next week! How cool is that? Check it out here:

http://designed2delight.blogspot.com/

The image has stitching in it already so I added stitching around the outside of the card  and along the cloudy paper. This image would be perfect for paper piecing!
Have a great day :)

Hambo Hoedown. Challenge #3

Can I just tell you how much I love these stamps. The make me giggle! This week was to use a pelican in a beach theme card. You had to use blue, tan, and brown colours. You can enter here:
http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/
And here is my card:
Ok here are the details: I ripped my tan paper and sponged the edges in brown. I then glittered the edges.
The water is meant to look like waves using a border punch. I free-hand made the pier and tied twine around it (it is popped off the page) I then coloured the pelican and glittered the fish. He is also popped up. I left the sentiment pretty generic so I can use it for anything. I was going to use " your quite a catch" but I don't know where I'd used it (or give it to). I then faux stitched around the edging. Hope this makes you smile like it made me :)

A day for daisies challenge

I made this vintage card for a challenge at A Day For Daisies. The image was a freebie and just stunning as all the images there are! You still have time to play so head on over and add your card!
http://adayfordaisies.blogspot.com/2011/02/its-day-for-daisies-blog-hop.html#comments
Here is my card.  I distressed the edges and did some tearing. I added glitter to the rose and a butterfly that is embossed. I also added the word cherish. I find that smelling a flower can bring back some fond memories, so I thought this would be fitting :)

DYSU-dots challenge

I am entering this into the DYSU challenge blog found here:
http://www.doyoustackup.blogspot.com/
The theme this week is dots. I was making a card using Glitterbabes freebie stamp and thought I would enter into this challenge as well  :)
I added rhinestones in the middle of the flowers and on the "I"  in the birthday sentiment. Sorry about the picture it was dark outside when I finished it up :)

A day for daisies challenge

This is my first ever entry at A Day For Daisies challenge blog.
http://www.adayfordaisies.blogspot.com/
The challenge was to use metallics in your card. Wow-did I struggle with this one. I originally had used the freebie digi offered this week but I found it hard to use such a delicate image with the hardness of metals. So I opted to use another image from them. Here is my card entry with lots of metallics :)

Card is silver cardstock, and mermaid had both metallic silver added to her tail as well as her eyelids. Enjoy!

Delightful inspiration challenge

Here is my entry for the Deligthful Inspiration challenge. It's a progressive challenge so if you enter you receive next weeks image free. Take a look here for details:
http://designed2delight.blogspot.com/
Not my usual colours I like to use and this layout is a pretty simple one, but I think it showcases the flowers well :)
Thanks for looking!

Here is the link:

I love pink/brown, I think it's my favourite combo ever. The main image is popped up off the card and of course no fairy is complete without glitter! Enjoy :)

Hambo Hoedown. Challenge #2

Did you enter last week and get your freebie image this week from the Hambo Hoedown challenge?
Check it out here:
http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/
This week we were emailed an adorable little monster. Here is my card, but to really get it you'll have to read about it below the picture
So my monster is eating chocolate hearts and keeping his "eyes on you" (being my son) so he doesn't try and steal any. My son is notorious for helping himself whenever he sees any goodies-lol. The inside reads "Hey, get your own!" and I am going to add a little gift card in there :)
Enjoy!

Less is More week 2 challenge card #2

Here is my second entry to the less is more challenge found here:
http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/
Challenge is to do a one layer card using a tree/flower image
I layer SU stamps with different shades of brown, then coloured in the bird. I also highlighted the sentiment.

Less is More week 2 challenge

Stumbled across this website  http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/  and spent a few minutes looking through the submissions. One thing that takes me hours to do is a clean and simple card. I know, you would think it would be the opposite. Anywho I made 2 cards, the first one is my first card entry. (it has flowers on the inside of the hearts)  I made it for my hubbie!

Have a great day :)

Have a great night!

Hambo Hoedown. Challenge #1

First can I just say...How cute is this stamp? I got it free for playing in this challenge:
 http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/2010/02/got-your-dancing-shoes-on-its-time-to.html
The challenge goes til Feb 8th so hop on over and check it out!
For this card I chose to title it sportmanship. We often talk about this with our children, particularly our 6 year old. Here is the inside:
I was going for a clean and simple look with this card, and choose to add some grass at the last minute. I crinkled up some of it so it stands off the card. I cut out a cloud template and sponged around it to make the sky. And, of course, I added glitter. I mean, if girls were really going to play  pro ball they would want to look uber cute playing right?

Enjoy and have a blessed day :)
