It's Hambo Time and I'm over the moon!

Head on over to the Hambo Hoedown Challenge blog and play along with this weeks image called "moonscape".For my card I used a previous freebie from Hambo called 'eye monster' If you enter this week you can play along with a free image next week-how cool is that?

It's my 13th wedding anniversary tomorrow and humour has definitely helped us make it through the rough times. So I made this for the hubbie (not going to spill the beans about the inside but I think he'll laugh :)
Thanks for stopping by!
(please mind the photo it was hard to get a good shot with all the shiny paper and glitter going on!!)

Hambo Hoedown SUMOOOOOOO card

Hambo stamps make me giggle! They are way to funny, and easy peasy to colour too. This week over at the Hambo Hoedown blog the challenge was to use chipboard and the Sumo digi by Hambo Stamps.
Here is my card using  the digi and one sentiment:
Do you know how to cover chipboard? Simply glue the wrong side of your chipboard ( I use tombow) and add your favourite paper (wrong side to the glue). Wait til it dries, then take an exacto knife and cut off the excess. If you want you can sand the edges for a finished look.

Bugaboo take 2

I wanted to make a second card entry for the challenge at Catch the Bug blog. This weeks challenge is to use polka dots and stripes.  This cutie patootie  ballerina digi can be found in the Bugaboo store.
I have used striped paper and a polka dot ribbon. I added some glitter to her and also added some to the flowers :)
Sorry about the dark picture. I didn't take it until it was dark outside so this is the best I could do :(
Thanks for looking! Have a great night.

I would also like to enter this uber cute card into the following challenges: (look at me multi-tasking teehee)

Have an awesome night :)

Funky Elephant Birthday Card

The last time I used this cute elephant from Hambo Stamps, I had over 5 requests for my card-lol! I also won Queen of the Hoedown!! Woot woot :)  He is just so cute I thought I would use him again (well, that and I forgot to email Hambo after my entry so I didn't get the new stamp this week-boo!)
Anywho, the challenge this week at the Hambo Hoedown is to use bold colours and do some paper piecing. Bold colours are something I don't use a lot of, so I thought a fun birthday card would suit my paper pieced elephant for this challenge. Here is my bright card:
The elephant is paper pieced and his head is popped up off his body. I also paper pieced his hat with my polka dot border strip.

Since we have so many occasions in May (mother's day, anniversaries, birthdays etc) I would like to enter this also into Stamping Vacations Challenge : Special month-anything about May

Check back for more cards. I try and post daily and hope you find yourself inspired :)

Bugaboo-Catch the Bug Challenge Blog

This is my third entry into the Bugaboo challenge this week. Why so many? Have you seen their prizes?? You have about 3 days left to play, and you can enter 3 times, so hop on over for the details :)

I have a confession....I'm a slacker. I have sadly neglected my children's scrapbooking pages and their albums are a little bear. Okay, more than just a little. Hey, I'm a busy momma of 3 monkeys. I do put pictures and notes into the sleeves of my albums for down the road.
Anywho, this little digi from Bugaboo inspired me to scrap tonight. It will go really well with a picture I have of my son at 10 months (yes that was a little over 6 years ago-hey, I told you I was a slacker-teehee)
It's a 9x9 page but I will probably put it on a 12x12 sheet and add my journalling down the side. Ya know, down the road when I have more time-lol
Have a great night!

Your momma wears army boots!

We use to tease each other all the times as kids. In fact, we all have the same mother which made these "your momma" jokes even funnier. out of respect for my mom, who may read this one day, I won't go into any details. Just know we've had a few jokes over the years :) (Love ya mom)

I made this card using a Bugaboo digi. They have a a few occupations to chose from and they are all adorable! I popped up the digi and the background paper using pop dots. I also faux stitched around the star, then sponged around the outside to add depth, making it stand out a bit more.

I would also like to enter this into Stamping Vacation's "name your own challenge', challenge. My name for this challenge would be to make a card for those who serve.
Have an awesome night :)

I'm sorry and I ain't lion!

This weeks challenge at Bugaboo's blog Catch the Bug is "anything goes". This lion is from the Wizard of Oz set. Which just happens to be my favourite movie of all time. Did you know Veggie Tales as a kids video called 'The wizard of Ha's'? It's based on the prodigal son. I love those little guys-lol.
Anywho, I used a sketch from CDAC. Here is my card:
I'd also like to enter this into Stamping Vacations challenge-Fountain of youth , going to the zoo inspiration
Have a great night :)

Chick Magnet Gift Card Holder

It's Hambo Challenge time! Hop on over and check out this weeks image. Play along and your next weeks image is free! This farm chicken digi was just screaming 'chick magnet' so I made this gift card holder with that in mind. We also had to use stripes and dots in this weeks challenge. Look closely at the chickens-each one is dotted or stripped, except of course Mr. Chick Magnet himself. He has on a lovely sweater-tee hee! I just love Hambo stamps, they are so fun to play with, anywho , here is my card :)
I would also like to enter this into Stamping Vacations embellishment challenge-use magic mesh. To be honest I didn't have any so I looked around the house and found drywall tape (looks the same to me!)

Have a great night, and to all the mommies out there, I hope you have had a lovely Mother's day!

Ha Ha snuck away to play!

I had a few minutes tonight so I thought I'd play along with the Hambo Hoedown Challenge. This week we were given the image of a basket full of hearts and a sentiment. The challenge was to use it along with flowers and lace. Since it said we could do any project, here is what I did.....
When I first printed the digi the size reminded me of those cards you get when you buy flowers. So I made some flowers out of paper, crochet, brads, and my big shot. The lace is wrapped around the bottom with a heart charm. I used a recycled can for the vase and wrapped it in designer paper. To hide the inside of the can I cut and rolled some green paper to look like grass. The hearts in the 'card' are sparkled and coloured in different shades of pink. I then wrote 'love ya mom' in pink ink. Since becoming a mom I don't see my mom that often on Mother's day,so I dedicate this virtual flower bouquet to her. (ps mom if your reading this, I love ya bunches)
Off to bed, have a great night!

Last post for today....unless I can sneak away later-lol

Another post for a Stamping Vacation Challenge! This one is called White space-attach a brad. This was a really quick card. The brad is in the center of the follower (from Basic Grey)
Have a great week!

Ribbon over lace

This digi image is from the TLC blog. Paulette is so generous with her freebies, but she also has some wonderful things in her store too. I made this card for the Stamping Vacation challenge called : Have you tried it? -ribbon over lace.
It's the royal wedding week, so perhaps that is what inspired me. I think this could be used as a wedding card or perhaps a shower card? The brown ribbon is laid over the lace. As you can see in this photo, the ribbon pushes up the image. I think I need to use a stronger glue to hold it down-or use pop up dots.I added glitter to the angels wings and a portion of the hearts :)

Grizzly Adams who?

The challenge at Stamping Vacation, due May 22nd, is called Watch this!-use the tv show Grizzly Adams as your inspiration. Ok, I'm in my late 30's and although I have heard of the show, I have never watched it. Have you? I assume it has something to do with a bear-lol. Anywho, here is an invitation card I made with a grizzly on it. Stamps used are from SU. Enjoy!

Bloom, a card for a gardener

The challenge at Stamping Vacation is : To Who? -make a card for someone who recently planted a garden. I think this card, which I cased from a SU swap, is great. The inside comes out so you can add some lovely words. It could actually work for many things, for example, there is enough room to even add a seed packet for someone starting a new garden. Here is my card:

You have 2 weeks left to play along! Have a great day.

Animal Applause-caterpillar

I was inspired to make this cute card for my daughter. This morning she jumped into my bed and gave me a big hug. But, she would not let go. "Sing mommy, sing." is what she said. Our favourite song to sing is 'you are my sunshine'. This song totally reflects how I feel about her, she (much like her daddy) can make me giggle even if I have tears streaming down my face. She truly is my sunshine :) Anywho, enough about the sappy stuff-lol. The challenge at Stamping Vacation is Animal Applause-use any animal associated with a cocoon. Here is my card:
I have to go back and reattach some of my words as my daughter was picking at it already-lol. The image is from Melonheadz. Thanks for looking!

No! No! Challenge with Trendy Trees

It's another fun challenge over at Stamping Vacation called No!No!-no using black ink . I have really enjoyed doing the challenges at this blog since it challenges me to think outside my usual box. For example I print all my digis in black ink, and stamp all my rubber in black ink. So what was I going to do? Here is what I came up with:
All images are from SU. Hop on over to Stamping Vacation and play you have 10 days left!
