NettieG's Fashion Show challenge Part 3

For the challenge this week at NettieG's I decided to do something a little different and make a scrapbook page. Eliza is from the 1910's which is one year off from my grandma's birth year, so I decided to make a page of her for my scrapbook. It's been a project long overdue, but I had fun doing it. I used rub-ons, flowers, crystal gems, hat pins, buttons and of course the awesome image from NettieG. Not to late to play along, jump on over to NettieG's and request your free image :)

Do you stack up? 3rd challenge

This weeks challenge is "Pink" over at the Do you Stack up? blog. You can check it out here :

I really enjoy the concept of this challenge blog as you are not limited to cards. This week my entry is a little early. Last week I did not account for the time difference, went to post my entry, only to find out it was already closed-boo :( So I figured I'll do it a few days earlier-lol. Here is my card using a free digi stamp. The sentiment is a rub on. I've had the flower for ever and never found a use for it, but today was its lucky day! Enjoy and have a blessed day :)

It's challenge time!

This is the second part of NettieG's challenge. You can check it out here:

I used pearls to add some elements to the card-they were not easy to adhere. If you plan on sticking pearls to your card I highly recommend dots. Elizabeth is popped up with dimensionals, the edges are scored to make a distressed look. Have a wonderful day :)

This is the link to NettieG's new challenge. It's a 3 parter so get there today to get your free image of Eliza and craft away! Since my children decided to play with my printer I was unable to print out the image. My entry is completely digital. Not bad considering I've never done this before! Can't wait to see part 2 of the challenge :)
Have a blessed day,
Laura

Do you stack up? 1st challenge post

Do you love prizes? Well then hop on over to the new blog Do you stack up?
http://www.doyoustackup.blogspot.com/
There are lots of opportunities to be creative and extra chances to win by using a digi stamp from a sponsor. The challenge this week was to use buttons. Hello!! My favourite thing. I have made layouts using them in trees, to define space, and on my cards etc. The possibilities are endless (and so are the types of buttons you can get)
Here is my scrapbook layout. I tend to make cards these days but with a baby face like this, its hard to resist-lol.
Did you know you can make your own buttons? All you need is cardstock, a circle punch, glue, and a hole puncher.
Step 1: punch about 5-10 circles in your desired size and colour
Step 2:  glue each circle on top of itself and let dry.
Step 3: using your hole punch, punch two small circles in the middle
Step 4: If you want to you can sandpaper the edges, then embellish your project.

Your can make several of these at once in various sizes. This is great if you want a matching colour but can't find that exact button. Also, you can do this with heart punches, square etc. Let your imagination run wild :)
Have a great day!

Fairydoodler's Den Friday Freebie Challenge

I came across this website that was hosting a challenge and offering a free digi to colour.
http://fairydoodler-fairydoodlersden.blogspot.com/
I really liked the image. It reminds me of when my husband and I were first together and would always have 'stolen moments' amongst all the busyness. 13 years and 3 kids later those stolen moments are hard to find without someone interrupting-lol. This image makes me smile and remember good times.

I am not sure that  I am totally happy with the card I made. Partly I think because I am outside of my usual colour palette. Also, once I took the picture I realized it was blurry and you can't see the word "stolen" But, I give myself kudos for trying a new challenge (all while mending a broken wrist, and getting over nasty colds here)   Enjoy!
