I find a new love. A new challenge blog that is :) It's called Shopping Our Stash. Hello!!! This is what my whole blog adventure is about. If you've never been here, here is the lowdown. I'm on a quest to create using ONLY my stash. So far I've been really good, and its been killing me. Alas, there still is no sight of my craft room floor but one day my hubbie will see it again.....one day. (actually he's really good about it)
Anywho, here is my entry to the Stash challenge. We were to use a digi and a sentiment on our card. What I used from my stash was scraps (see that scallop thing?) and everything else basically-lol. Image is from Bugaboo.
The challenge just started today so you have lots of time to play along. Thanks for looking!

Silver, Black, and Bling at Catch the Bug
Nope, not time to dress up all pretty like, just another wicked challenge from Bugaboo!
The challenge: use silver, black, and bling in your card.
Easy peasy right? Well, I don't have any silver paper. As you know (if you've been here before) I am on a quest to use up my stash before I purchase a new so I had to get creative. Bling is on the snowflake and glittered on the snowman. Black is the card base, as well as , on the DP (designer paper). The silver ended up being some wired ribbon I had laying around. Voila! Challenge complete :)
Lots of time to play along so go get a craftin'!!

Oh so soft at the Hambo Hoedown!
This weeks challenge at the Hambo Hoedown is to use something soft in your project. If you played last week AND emailed your entry you received this weeks computer image called Soft Wares. Although I did play, I totally forgot (again) to email (sigh)
But never fear, 'cause they are totally awesome and have freebies in their store you can use to play along :) How sweet is that?
Okay my card this week is using the freebie image 'Cool Cat'. An odd choice for this time of year? Perhaps. However my extended family is going away on a trip over Christmas so I thought this card would be fitting! I used felt as my 'soft' thing to make the santa hat. Thanks for looking and don't forget to play along!

ABC Christmas Challenge
Well I'm on the exploration front again today and found this challenge blog ABC Christmas Challenge.
The challenge is to case a previous DT (design team) member's card and recreate it (x is for xerox is the name of the challenge) WOW was it hard to pick. They have some awesome cards and I will certainly be spending more time browsing for ideas :) The card I found to case was in a challenge called R is for Recycling (use ribbon/rhinestone as an added bonus). The card I chose is from DT member Delphine. I loved the simplicity of it-but wowzers check out her colouring. AMAZING!
Here is my card, details below:
I coloured an image from Bugaboo and added rhinestones to some of his lights. I adhered that onto acetate adding bling to the corners like Delphine did. The background was stamped with SU stamps with white stazon. The ribbon had to placed on the top so the actetate would hold. It really looks much better in person, it was hard to get a picture without a glare :(

Hambo Hoedown Challenge and more!
This week at the Hambo Hoedown the challenge is to use a tag on your project. I thought I would combine this with the challenge Stamping with Dragon which is to use food in your project. (the turkey) and The Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge-add a santa hat.
My card uses a version of the original Hambo Stamp called Wee Henry Turkey ( I added a santa hat to him). Since here in Canada we have already celebrated Thanksgiving, I thought I'd make this a Christmas card.
I haven't decided what to put inside yet but I was thinking something like:
For another turkey dinner (a Christmas dinner invite)
What do you think I should put inside?

Challenge time :)
As exhausted as I am from the craft show today, I wanted to craft away tonight. I think it was the kind words from buyers/viewers that had me on a craftin' high :)
If you've read my blog before you know I LOVE bugaboo stamps.
Bugaboo is soooo generous in giving away digis to winners on other challenge blogs. This week I thought I'd venture from my usual 'challenge sites'. I combined a few challenges and created this:
I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
Stamptacular Sunday - Oh boy, Oh boy. Use a male image on your card
Craft Challenge - use stars
DYSU - a splash of blue
ABC Challenges - D is for dazzle (check out the Stickles on the monkey, stars and glittery DP!)
Sketches by Carly - follow the sketch.
Thanks for looking, have a great night, and don't forget to play along!!

A craftin' I will go! Busy, Busy, Busy
SO...... I have been busy working away making some craft items for a show. It is at our local church with the proceeds going to help the youth. They are trying to raise money for their trip to El Salvador.
Tonight was 'set up' and we had people come and buy from us, which was lovely.
Here are some things I made:

This is a gift card holder. I found a template online, chalked the edges, stamped a sentiment, then added photo corners on the back to hold the gift card.
I made several of these, different shapes, colours, sayings. They were modge podged, sanded, chalked. The sentiments I printed off the computer.
This were the quickest ever cards to make. I bought a great paper pack, cut out the first layer, glittered a tree, added a star to the top (not shown here) and voila! Easy cards to make under 5 minutes!
Stay tuned for some more!

It's Hambo Time!
Well it may appear that I have not been crafty, or blogging but that is soooo not true. My friend and I are preparing for a craft bazaar, hoping to raise funds for the youth team.
I'll share some of the things I made in another post.
Guess what? I didn't make a card for the Hambo Hoedown. Nope, I made a scrapbook page. I finally decided to print my pictures (ouch that cost hurt, think I waited to long!)
This was one on top and I knew it would fit into this weeks theme. Use the image "camera guy" by Hambo Stamps as well as a frame on your page.
I'll show you my page (pardon the blurriness, I couldn't seem to photograph the page properly-out of practice I suppose-lol) then I'll write about it at the end, in case you want more info :)
Thanks for looking, and don't forget to play along!!
My son went to camp in the summer and they would sing songs, but do it in funny ways. One way was to walk like a fashion lady! So the rest of the summer he would randomly walk around signing "Oh, ya fashion lady" etc. I told him I was going to get a picture of him doing that. I stalked him like the paparazzi. He averted the camera until late summer! Then I got em'! Bah ha ha. The picture has a tag under it to store all the fun memories. I crimped the one corner for texture, added some brads and a twine line clipping on the tags. I chalked the edges, added crystal effects to the lense of the camera for glare. I have more tags to add to the line but I didn't want to share personal info on the net-I'm sure you understand :)
I think it's appropriate for me to also enter this into the DYSU challenge. The song choice for this layout would be 'paparazzi' (giggles)

Hambo Hoedown Challenge Time!
It's Hambo Time!! (insert happy dance-lol)
This week's challenge: choose any technique from the Splitcoaststampers Resources Page to make your project. I chose to do the technique called: Acrylic Post-It™ Note Holder
I have been a long time member at splitcoaststampers (maybe 5ish years?). It has great ideas, tutorials, and hosts creative people from newbies to published talent. The best news is it's easy to navigate and totally free. When you have some time (seriously, you are going to need time because there is soooo much on there) go check it out!
Anywho, back to the challenge. Since I have dedicated my blog to using what I have on hand (or trying to) I decided to switch up the acrylic frame for one I've had in storage. So without further ado here is my project:
I used Snail Rake from Hambo Stamps ( a freebie for playing last week) and coloured him on the computer. I then did some shadowing with markers before I placed him in the frame. I free hand cut out some leaves, chalked them, and added a handmade button.
I think this turned out cute and I might make up a few more of these with the changing season. What do you think?
Oh...don't forget deadline for Hambo Hoedown challenges end on Mondays now, so hurry up and go get creating!
